@Al_Humphreys Yikes. Generally you need ACOS below about 25% to make any ROI (if using KDP) because the sales figs those charts show don’t deduct your printing costs. Zon ads can work brilliantly but it depends a lot on keywords and the genre.

I just booked some ads in @jspector’s excellent newsletter for creators (fortheinterested.com) – the price goes up after today. The project I want to advertise doesn’t even exist. I’m using this to give myself a deadline to launch it. Advertising as accountability partner.

@Al_Humphreys I’ve found Substack’s own platform and tools (eg cross recommendations) have driven most of my growth. I’m not at your level of course! I have about 2600 (gethistories.com) but more sign up every day with no real promotion elsewhere. So I recommend it.
