The public right of way was lost in the mid-20th century but a 1990s campaigner complained (rightly) to the council, who restored it as a footpath only, and the woodland since has rightly closed in to make it so beautiful today (orchids too! pic taken there 3 yrs ago) (3/4) https://t.co/2OdtV8ylHe

But now the same campaigner is trying to get its status restored to a ‘byway open to all traffic’ = a road. Why would anyone do this? A govt inspector is now supporting this change. Motor vehicles /might/ get restricted… or might not. It’s insane. (4/4) https://t.co/HO5HiGA8tC
